The Eagles have postponed the summer 2008 training camp and "World Tour".
June 10, 2008
Curtis Watts the President and General Manager of the Eagles stated “the schedule and logistics work out best for all of our players and the team.” Watts went on to explain that “now playing in October and November places us in a traditional season for the Eagles program to compete against the teams in Europe as they will have already completed the EFAF Eurobowl and in National Federation play. These changes have also been well received by the teams we intend to play.” Watts said that The Eagles will use this period of delay to get players and coaches prepared.
The choice became necessary after a recent visit to 4 European countries where Watts discussed long term arrangements with Presidents and General Managers of teams. We found out that having our team playing in August was a timing problem for our European counterparts as it is the traditional vacation period in Europe. Team participation and attendance would have been affected by playing in August. Watts stated, “I made a choice to accommodate the European teams in order to provide the best solution for the long term.”
